I don't normally cry when watching a film, let alone reading a book, but Build A Bonfire is one of those rare tooms that sets you off. Brilliantly researched, BaB is the story of how Brighton & Hove Albion fans came together to save the club from its asset-stripping chairman and his henchmen.
Told entirely through interviews with those involved, it's a superb lesson in what to and what not to do when your football club is in peril. With humour and pathos, BaB tells how Brighton supporters campaigned, organised, demonstrated and united with other football fans across the country to create direct action and peaceful protest against Bill Archer and David Bellotti.
Build A Bonfire is a must-read for any football fan; funny, sad and incredibly inspirational.
Full marks all round.
