Recommended to me by a friend, this brilliantly written book reveals an inspirational philosophy that will truly change your life. It’s the ultimate in helping people to self discovery as Rosalyn Palmer deliberately lays herself wide open to reveal personal and professional episodes that have occurred during her life and ways in which she deals with certain events through revolutionary thinking processes and strategies. She encourages everyone to contemplate and develop a new mind set. The message constantly running throughout the book underlines the concept that employing such changes in your reactions to a variety of challenges and indeed addressing situations on a day by day basis, will undoubtedly have major effects upon you and your life for the better. An outstanding read. L.M.Wilson
I don't write many book reviews but I felt I had to write this one because the book had such an impact on me. The author has created something special - a very easy to read and enjoyable book that leaves the reader with a lot to think about. Rosalyn weaves her personal story - and what a story it is! - into the pages, intertwined with her approach and tools to progress the reader towards thinking about all aspects of their life and how to make it more joyful. She describes the highest of highs and the the most crushing of lows, never bragging about her many achievements or seeking pity for the terrible twists of fate, but simply conveying how she coped and is at peace with everything that life has thrown at her - and gives the reader the right mindset and tools to do the same. The book left me with a profound sense of peace - that whatever happens in my life, I can find the tools and the perspective to deal with it and emerge into the next stage of life with hope and happiness. Thank you for a wonderful book!
‘This is my journey. These are my experiences. This is what I have learned.’
This book is extraordinary. Of course there are many books that purport to offer genuinely helpful self-improvement advice. They represent something of a lottery. Some are truly helpful, some just don’t meet the individual reader’s needs.
For me this book unequivocally falls into the former category. Reading it I was overwhelmed by Rosalyn Palmer’s courage and her honesty. No punches are pulled, whether it’s to do with her experience of cancer or her frankly infectious delight in the appetites of a life well lived.
Inevitably any response to a book is personal, particularly one that seeks to derive life lessons from the author’s own experiences. We look at a book through the lens of our own experiences. For me this book couldn’t have been more timely. As a 52 year old man, facing my own demons and struggles, this book offered me empathy, practical advice and, most important of all, hope. It’s invaluable.
This self-help book is one of the best I’ve read, and trust me, I’ve read my fair share of such books over the past 26 years. Ros puts so much of herself into this book; it's a book of such honesty about a life well and truly lived, loved and lost. If anyone has a right to write such a book, it is Ros Palmler.
I particularly love the quotes in the book like this one from The Universe "Someone bugging you? Nah, way too easy. Just like happiness, disappointment is an inside job."
When you've been at the bottom of the darkest, deepest pit and you've managed, by hook or by crook, to come out of it, I feel it's encumbent upon a person to share that with others to help prevent them ending up in the same pit, or at least if they're already in it, give them some hope that they won't be in it forever, and the 'tools' to ensure that they never fall in again!
Ros has led an interesting and very colourful life. When I describe Ros to my other friends, I say that she's lived 10 lives, and I say that because she has packed so much into her 57 or so years that she makes me feel positively inadequate at times.
She’s had so many up’s and down’s yet still has always had such a positive mental attitude, and always makes time for her friends and clients, which just demonstrates how important attitude and outlook is to our health and wellbeing. Such an inspiration.
Congratulations on writing a book that will help so many people. Super proud of you Ros. Linda x
I'm a big fan of self-help books and have read a fair few. in this book It felt like I was having a conversation with Rosalyn and that she was sharing her most difficult of times to help me through mine. It is so easy to read, funny and self-depreciating in parts. I felt supported and encouraged that if she can get through all the stuff that she did then on a challenging day, I know I can too.. There are some really easy-to-follow exercises and stories to guide you through those times curved balls come your way. It seems she too has read so many other self-help books, and along with working with world experts and had lots of therapy herself, sh can short cut any of that for me! It's one to be re-read and again, I've bought one for my sister and and know what I’m giving a bunch of my friends for Christmas this year!
I’ve read a few (well, more than a few!) personal development/self-help books in my time and what makes this book engaging is how it interweaves with Rosalyn's life story. She is speaking from experience about where she was and how she has moved on. So, rather than someone telling you what you ‘should’ do, she is sharing what has worked for her.
If you’re feeling overwhelmed and things aren’t perhaps how you’d like to them to be you’ll get lots of practical tips. Based on Rosalyn’s experience and her therapy work these are tried and tested, so worth giving a go to see if they work for you.
I thoroughly enjoyed the book and have bought a couple more to pass onto friends that I know it will help.
What I liked most about this book, is Rosalyn's honest and authentic sharing of her personal experiences. She writes from the heart and gives the reader a realistic yet practical roadmap to reset and restart one's life. Easy to read and engaging to follow, be ready for a spiritual, emotional and physical journey.
Such an easy read and so full of useful things. I read it in virtually one sitting! Loved the mix of guidance, suggestions and inspirational messages blended into Rosalyn’s own life story so far. Made me remember that the Reset button is always there for us, no matter what comes our way. Thanks for the great read!
Rosalyn is a brilliant writer who makes it so clear and easy for you to implement positive changes into your life easily and effortlessly. This book is open and honest, inspiring and motivational. I would Highly recommended this book.
