Top critical review
Enjoyable read, but too much upselling from the author is included in the book

I was slightly disappointed with the content for two reasons.
1. The guide is focused on setting up a full time business using rent to rent. I don't think this fits in with the blurb around how the strategy can make you 'financially free' as you would still need to work full time to maintain this business, especially compared with traditional buy-to-let strategies. There is significant emphasis on how the author uses the full time professional image of her business to build trust with landlords and find properties to rent, so I don't think the book is aimed well for anyone who is just interested in setting up one or two rent to rent properties as they won't have the same professional business structure and ability to build such a lasting rapport with Estate Agents etc.
2. Throughout the books there are various links to the author's website and references to courses the author offers. I would much rather have all the relevant content included in the book rather than having to pop onto the website every other page to access an online resource. It does make the book feel in part like a marketing exercise, and brings into question how successful the author's property business if she is giving the hard sell on her other books and educational material.
The book is an enjoyable read, but it didn't inspire me to look further into the rent to rent principle as I do feel I would need to work full time on building a property business to follow the strategy. If you are interested in setting up a full time property business, this is probably a good place to get started, and the author does offer free 10 minute phone calls if you would like further advice. If, like me, you don't want to turn the rent to rent method into a full time job, I would probably give this a miss.
