Not for those seeking the truth
on 3 November 2014
I bought this book as I give all my About Heaven Books to people I am reaching out to with the message of salvation found only in Jesus Christ.
Having read the book I think it probably has its foundation in Morman teaching rather than true Christian teaching. I have nothing against Dr Mary she is a wonderful lovely person but I feel she misses the mark with this book in that it does not point to Jesus and the salvation He won for us all. Remember John 14:6(KJV) Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
I found the book interesting however in chapter 12 it states that as mary approached the hall it represented the last branch point of life the gate through which every human must pass and it was clear that this hall is place where each of us is given the opportunity to review our lives and choices?, and "where we are each given a final opportunity to choose God or turn away from eternity" ????? What!
Jesus clearly teaches that we have to make this choice while we are "Alive" not Dead !
This is not a teaching from the holy scripture ? Jesus said John 3;3 Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
5 Jesus answered, `Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the kingdom of God unless they are born of water and the Spirit. 6 Flesh gives birth to flesh, but the Spirit gives birth to spirit. 7 You should not be surprised at my saying, "You must be born again."
What does being born again mean? Romans chapter 10 gives clear instruction,
Romans 10; 8 But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach;
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
The Bible clearly teaches that If we die without being born again (become a christian) we do not enter heaven but are seperated from God the Father forever in eternal hell.
This book fails by leaving out information about salvation. People respect Dr Mary MD so I think she ought to point people towards the truth of Christian message which is Eternal life through salvation by grace not works, Jesus paying the price for our sins and offering us the free gift of salvation.
Surley the book should help people seeking answers about life and life after death by clearly addressing the biblical issue of eternal salvation only found through accepting Jesus Christ as Lord and saviour, without this the book denies people the most vital and important information on how to have a personal relationship with the Lord. I think the author should consider adding this information with a simple pray of salvation.
