This is an excellent book about the Lancashire witches. It is clearly written and gives the background to the trial and the accused and also includes the Samlesbury witches.
Political ambition, religious prejudice and fear of the inexplicable all played a part in the demise of the 11 hapless individuals who paid a heavy price for their beliefs.
The book is clearly written and relies on facts rather than supposition. It is well worth reading if you are interested in history.

This book gives a good account of the events surrounding the Lancashire witch trials but there is repartition of events and a lot of names to remember which makes reading it a bit heavy going.
