Once again another excellent translation of a true Ninja scroll from Mr Cummins and Ms Minami.
Original penned by Fujibayashi Yasutake in 1676 who was an actual Shinobi-no-mono.
The Bansenshukai is considered 'THE' ninja manual presented for the first time in the English language and covering topics from questions and answers from Fujibayashi of what a Ninja actually is. How to be in the right frame of mind for shinobi activities. Secrets of yo-Nin and In-Nin techniques and Ninja tools.
This book is an absolute must for any Ninja enthusiast and anyone who is interested in medieval Japanese warfare.

All I can say is. For anyone who still looks at the ninja from a Hollywood point of view, they are so wrong!! This book is so full of information the truth has finally come to the surface in the form of the Bansenshukai.. Now you too can learn the way of Shinobi No Jutsu..

Ive heard about a collection of Ninja manuals kicking around for ages now, then i discovered the Historical Ninjutsu Research team and their works, previous releases include the Shoninki and the Shinobi Hiden, now the powerful Bansenshukai, over 500 pages of pure (translated from the original) gold.
The idea of a Ninja has been obscured over time but here is a book that will bring the reality of the era back to place of pride in the historical community.
The Bansenshukai contains such chapters as guidelines for commanders, Ninja tools, Hidden infiltration as well as a ton of fire recipies, the real deal people, the real deal.

Top work from Antony and Yoshiee, a great translation of the ancient ninja scroll bansenshukai, all the other books by them in my collection are great too (shoninki, ninpiden, via and koka ninja skills) and a must read for all those interested in the historical samurai and shinobi. 5 star recommendation

This is the first publication of the Bansenshukai (Ohara Version) that has been translated into English.

Mr Cummins and Ms Minami have done an excellent job, the writing is concise and easy to understand with a western, modern mind - take note that this has all been translated into English from Old Japanese, something that is not easy to do!

The book itself is very well made and has a decent spine, which is great as it is a large book and has many, many pages. It WILL take you a time to read through it all so having a decent spine is great as we don't want those pages to come out!

This book, alongside the Shoninki & Shinobi Hiden (Ninpiden), plus Iga & Koka Ninja skills will make sure that any true Ninjutsu enthusiast will get the most knowledge and learning done that is possible.

This is a fantastic, and long awaited translation of the famous Bansenshukai. For anyone interested in history, japanese warfare, or the ninja I strongly suggest that you get this book. Aspects from sheishin (correct mind), to tactics and many aspects of equipment are covered. A must for any bookshelf.

I don't understand how this 'TREASURE' has only just been translated now. This is the apex of all Ninja related books. It is definitive as to what Ninja were, How they thought, operated, made the tools of their trade etc etc.

This will put you in the mindset of the historic Ninja and help you to understand why these famous figures in Japanese history made such an impact.

If you have any interest in Ninjutsu whatsoever, you really MUST own a copy of this book.
