This starts off as a diatribe against the US government's lack of support for physics, and the physics covered later is patchy. And I don't remember it even mentioning that most mass is in the binding energy of nucleons. I found it very disappointing. For a real book read Frank Wilczek, who is incomparably better.

Excellent book - clear and concise explanations and a worthy update on the first installment. A good read even for the layman.
