Simply put, this is the finest reprint of the original run of G.I.Joe A Real American Hero by Larry Hama. The colouring, page quality and increased size present the comics in their finest ever form and they look beautiful. The stories are as amazing as you remember with all your favourite characters being introduced and characterised in style by Mr Hama's flawless writing. The obvious highlight here would be the amazing and unique issue #21 "Silent Interlude". In addition to this you receive an introduction by the peerless Mark W. Bellomo who's exhaustive knowledge on 'Joe never fails to enlighten and entertain. He delves in great detail into Hama's creation of Destro and Duke and tells how these characters were fully fleshed out. He also includes detailed Character File cards that were written by Hama and then edited by hasbro to create the file cards for the figures. For a die-hard G.I.Joe fan these insights are invaluable and really tell how vital Hama was in creating and fleshing out those 3 3/4 inch lumps of plastic making them the characters we all know and love. You also get an "Ops Brief" after each issue which picks out information, jargon, Insider info etc from each issue. These are highly detailed and full of tonnes of previously unknown information. As well as reprinting the original Marvel run IDW and Bellomo have taken the amazing step of reprinting the 'half' issues written by Hama that were packed with the action figure packs of the 25th Anniversary. A superb step as these issues flesh out specific moments within the run of ARAH and are a superb addition. I can't recommend this run highly enough. It's not a simple reprint of the marvel comics, it gives HUGE amounts of background info as well as other issues written by Hama that fit within the continuity. If you don't get these you are missing out!!! P.S. Nearly forgot, you get a whole host of blueprints for vehicles and playsets at the back of the volume. Get involved people!!!
