Author David Tom bubbles with enthusiasm for his subject and has crafted a book that reflects that boundless enthusiasm . This is a super book which is so good that it is almost impossible to know where to start with ones praises . The story of Trans-Am racing is fully told , interspersed with accounts of the restoration of individual cars and the recollections of period participants . Lavishly illustrated , page after page contains absolutely fascinating technical revelations . Worth buying just for its detailed illustrations of the late Henry 'Smokey ' Yunick's 'creative engineering !! An absolutely superb book for the motorsports enthusiast , I cannot recommend it highly enough . If only all motorsport books were this good or showed such obvious passion on the part of their authors . A truly delightful book .

A great book, reasonably priced for fans of early pony cars . Learnt a lot and anyone contemplating a rebuild could pick up a few useful tips as well, but if not, just enjoy the nostalgia and marvel at the tricks of Smokey Yunick and others.
