Another story about people, their emotional development, their lives and loves ~ set against a backdrop of crime and violence. The serial killer (from the last book) has been caught and is due to stand trial. Autry feels duty bound to defend him, as a public defence lawyer (despite believing that he is guilty) but people turn against her for doing so. Then someone decides to start stalking Autry and sends her threatening messages. She no longer feels safe any where. Her own brother hits her and knocks her over, despite her pregnancy. The story escalates in tension and violence. A couple of scenes reduced me to tears. The book also continues Tick and Caitlin's journey (who were in the last book). Another great read and again, as soon as I finished it, I purchased the next one in the series!
