This is a great book by Wallace D.Wattles, which has stood the test of time. There is an exact science to getting rich and the details are simple as they are fascinating. The concept of getting rich is an exact science which when followed yields the result of success and creation of wealth, once you begin to do things in a certain way. The opening sentence of the book is quite profound and one many of us will agree with :
"Whatever may be said in praise of poverty, the fact remains that it is not possible to live a really complete or successful life unless one is rich.No man can rise to his greatest possible height in talent or soul development unless he has plenty of money; for to unfold the soul and to develop talent he must have many things to use, and he cannot have these things unless he has money to buy them with. A man develops in mind, soul, and body by making use of things, and society is so organized that man must have money in order to become the possessor of things; therefore, the basis of all advancement for man must be the science of getting rich.”
He then goes on to elaborate on this science. My favourite chapter in this book remains, Chapter 7, the chapter on Gratitude. Gratitude in all that we do seems to be a forgotten path for many. For all that we receive from the Almighty God, all that is demanded of us is gratitude which must be the bowing of our souls in grateful thanks to HIM the Almighty. How this enriches our lives is explained in detail in this chapter and in the word of Wallace we read further in this chapter "There is a Law of Gratitude, and it is absolutely necessary that you should observe the law, if you are to get the results you seek. The law of gratitude is the natural principle that action and reaction are always equal, and in opposite directions.
The grateful outreaching of your mind in thankful praise to the Supreme is a liberation or expenditure of force; it cannot fail to reach that to which it addressed, and the reaction is an instantaneous movement towards you."Draw nigh unto God, and He will draw nigh unto you." That is a statement of psychological truth".
The rest of the book goes on to outline how to act in a certain way to bring about the changes required in your life to ensure the desired outcome. This book was written over a 100 years ago, that it is still valid today says something. While it is a great book, I disagree with the author when he says that it is the only book you need to read, I do believe there are other books which are equally good and should be read along side this to help one develop and fulfil ones potential to the utmost. This book is definitely one for the keeper shelf, I have bought several copies which I have gifted others.
