Ever since I read 'How to Survive a Horror Movie' I have been a little biased - as I adore Seth Grahame-smith's writing style and the never ending wit he adds to every page. So I purchased this book, hoping for more of the same thing.
Which I got, and was extremely happy with. I'm a woman, who knows a fair bit about porn, but this book is so heavily detailed I feel like a veteran in the biz. this book is an intresting, funny and informative book about porn - no more and no less.
I even liked the part at the end where Seth gives guidelines about how to make your own porn film. It also gives a brief overview of porn history, as well as the different types of porn, and the players from the earlier 20th century to present day. His prominent chart of the top porn films is also quite interesting to read.
I believe that I gave this book four stars only because I preferred his later two, but this still shouldnt stop you from adding it to your collection.
If you'd like tips or you're interested in the genre - this book is a great start for you.
If you're like me and just want to follow Seth's writing style - then it's pretty good anyway.
for the latter though, I'd recommend 'How to Survive a Horror Movie' or 'Pride and Prejudice and Zombies' (ok, that one is cheating a little because the style has been adapted from Austen - but the wit and charm still comes through regardless).
