Absence
Format: Paperback|Change

on 10 November 1999
Subtitled a "Metaphysical Comedy", this is the wildly irreverent story of a doctor recovering from an affair that never took place. Exploring a variety of themes-- absence and obsession, racism and post-structuralism-- Nick Page does for the NHS what the Marx Brothers did for Opera.
Ray Tallis, described by The Financial Times as one "whose sense of wonder gives him astonishing energy" is the author of over 150 books and articles, including THE RAYMOND TALLIS READER, recently published by Macmillan. ABSENCE is his first novel.

Beautifully written but pointless. Storyline vulgar, without any conclusion. Not something which would be understood by non-medics and it gives a bad impression of the medical and allied professions.
