A bit repetitive and obvious
on 10 May 2014
This just regurgitates ideas that are commonly held in Buddhism. It is annoying that Tara has capitalised the phrase Radical Acceptance throughout. At times I felt she might as well have added a TM after each mention. There are a lot of spiritual teachers out there in the West stealing ideas off ancient traditions and making quite a successful living from this, however in order to do so they have to put their own spin on these ancient ideas... sadly this feels dishonest... it's like rebranding.
Maybe that wasn't her intention?
Also the examples are totally unnecessary. A post-it note with the words 'Be Compassionate to oneself, and practise this a lot' would sum up the entire book. I needed compassion to get even a third of the way through the book. Maybe for complete beginners with zero study in this area might find it good... however why not just by the original ideas and not the copy!?
