A good book about country style but UK readers should be aware that it's published by the US version of Country Living magazine, not the UK version, and this is an American book. Therefore, 'country' means styles like Shaker rather than the English Country Cottage style many of us might be thinking of. Also, it very much assumes that you don't actually live in the countryside yourself, but want to create the country look in a town property. That said, it then gives lots of hints and tips about how to do just that with colour, furniture types and accessories, and the photographs are delightful. The slightly didactic tone is a little irritating.
County Chic really is a joy to read. The book contains beautifully photographed images featuring an array of original interior ideas. The styles featured could quite easily be interpreted into a city or country home. The book offers the reader a refreshing and inspirational insight into modern country decor. I highly recommend the book to readers who love simple country style mixed with modern amenities.
