I doubt there can be a resource in adult psychology that is more useful than this for reference. There are books which provide greater instruction on delivering intervention but for an overview of most disorders and a reference to treatment this is the gold standard

Good summary of the key issues, excellent for guiding less experienced staff in their learning and practice.

I just....kind of really don't like it much!

Was recommended this by another trainee who sold it to me as THE book to get, the one and only, and she promised scripts for whole sessions/treatment plans (,dam*it!)---I think she must have gotten the title mixed up as this book does not deliver on those things at all and I am sure there would be better books out there for the rest that it does cover. Hardly ever look at this.

This text edited by Carr is fantastic! It provides chapters on all the main disorders, tips for assessment, theory and intervention. The layout and text is very easy to read and provides a very practical slant on the information provided. It has been my go to book as a first year trainee.
