Not clay but fimo
on 26 April 2013
I was looking forward to receive this book, as I am an amateur potter and my son sometimes asks me to play with my clay. I was hoping to be able to make little clay characters and help him make some as well.
However the material used in this book isn't clay but some man made material called polymer clay. I think it is also known as fimo (?).
Clay has got different properties, and one cannot support soft clay with things suggested in the book, (silver foil, peaces of wood etc) as clay shrinks during the drying process and also during firing and would crack if something was holding it inside, such as it is suggested in this book. This book isn't what it says on the cover, however anyone wanting to use fimo would probably find it usefull..
