This is a colourful and practical first guide for children.

"Kids Knitting" is a beautifully photographed book that is a pleasure to handle. The photographs illustrate the various projects admirably and are an inspiration to children to produce their neatest work possible.
I have enjoyed using this book with children and all the projects are manageable for children over ten to try almost alone. The first project is a simple bean bag on large needles with thick wool and a very acceptable result can be achieved that is useful as a pet or small child's toy. It is all really encouraging.
Other projects such as making your own needles and dyeing your own yarn adds some excitement to knitting. The projects are practical and Melanie Falick certainly makes it seem very possible for children to actually knit their own sweaters!
