Augmented landscapes is an absolute gem of a book and a real find.

Smout Allen display an inherent love and sympathy for the relationship between architecture and the landscape, the schemes presented display a wit and charm underpinned by their English garden shed mentality, this is not to underplay the seriousness of their work and the intellectual rigour and extensive research that underpins it, the drawings are quite simply beautiful and follow in the Heath Robinson tradition and display a complete understanding of that whimsical genre, it shows that they live in their own beautifully complete universe of kites, telescopes and trolleys and are immune from the vagaries of faddism and fashion that seems to corrupt so many of their contemporaries.
To put it simply this is just a lovely book and serves to remind why practices like Smout Allen are so important.

This was my first book from the Pamphlet Architecture collection and I found it so refreshing. The ideas and concepts are not only interesting but presented in such an exciting graphical language. The projects are thought provoking and the solutions to such challenging situations are poetic. I am glad to have bought this book and have started my own pamphlet architecture collection because of it.

Would make a good gift for an architect/architecture student.

A wonderful collection of amazing conceptual imagery by Smout Allen. Texts explain some of the highly complex architectural drawings, and projects. I was hoping for some more pages when i opened it, yet still a great inspirational selection of works.
