A funny and thoroughly engaging book

I loved this book. At first I was sceptical, I followed the Help Me blog so was quite interested to see how it would translate into a book. I was afraid it might be a tongue-in-cheek story of how self help books con us into believing we can change our lives. However this is a searingly honest personal journey of a woman on a quest to find more meaning in life. As well as describing how she follows the advice given in each book we get an insight into the life of a single 30-something career woman who on the face of it has it all but is trapped in a web of insecurity and negative self beliefs. I won’t give anything away but I laughed and cried along with Marianne and became engrossed in her personal journey. The book is funny, engaging and honest and has a message that while one can get a bit self-obsessed while searching for enlightenment, life changing transformation is possible. A very enjoyable read.
