Excellent story (a little imagination needed), Elliot (the main character) is a young boy searching for the Worlds Greatest Magician. Half way through catches a train and a flight to travel to many destinations. Tricks throughout the book are great. My son did a magic show for the family this morning from the tricks in the book. Quite a long story and my six year old did need a little help with the tricks. Great stocking filler for Christmas and he really enjoyed the book. A must for budding little magicians!
MUST BUY CHRISTMAS PRESENT!!!!! this is a great book not just for those who like magic. it has a great story running through it and the illustration make the words come to life. but it not just a book there is tricks to learn so makes it great for a kid that is just getting into magic or it could get them into magic.
this book is worth every penny!! i hope there will be more books like this from matt and garry
My 6-year-old loves it. Tricks are great (but need a grown up to read instructions and do, at least the first time). Story is so-so, prose a bit contrived at some points - sound so much like the author went to writing classes. The whole idea of finding the greatest magician in the world is a bit shaky - maybe the quest could have been something else. However, as I said, my son loves it, so 4 stars overall.
A wonderfully put together book filled with some very strong magic tricks that my 10 year old started doing immediately at the delight of the rest of the family. Great illustrations and a story that will spark the reader's imagination. Nice to get a whole family interacting via this book.
Fantastic book, and beautifully illustrated! Went down a storm on Christmas Day with my 8 year old cousin (not to mention the rest of the family). She’s done a couple of the tricks on me... and I still don’t know how it was done!!! Highly recommended!!
