Like Robin Hood ? Give It A Read.
on 8 October 2015
I purchased this book a while back and finally got around to reading it. After finishing it and noticing this was a self published situation I wanted to leave a review as authors/books published through the big publishers get lots of press coverage and reviews. Where as books such as this and it's author depend more on customer feedback to grab potential customer interest when browsing around.
This is the second Robin Hood book series I have read so far and I have found them both enjoyable. Wolf's Head feels to be slower in pace and the events that take place are very local with a close group feel.
The events leading to Robin becoming an outlaw were very easy to follow and well detailed, as were the others characters and the events surrounding them. One aspect of this series that set it a part for me was that the characters are written as extremely cautious at all times and will actively weigh risk/reward. We don't see them taking on and killing silly numbers of people, they know their limits and that they are not in invulnerable.
If you enjoy the Robin Hood setting I would very much recommend this book to you.
I've ordered the second book and look forward to digging into it.
