I was looking for simple and tasty recipes, with one eye on the healthy too. The inclusion of nutritional information per portion at the bottom of each recipe is a very helpful in this respect. Good pictures of each dish are a big plus for me too. I have only cooked a few recipes so far but all have got a firm thumbs up from my resident food critic, my wife. Whereas I am no professional cook, nor am I a complete novice, and although the preparation has been straightforward enough I have found the 'Hands-On' times optimistic. Some cooking/reduction times likewise have been a bit out - but this could just be me. There appears to be the odd error too - as one recipe refers to adding ' the rest of liquid coconut milk', whereas for the life of me I can't find any reference to using any previously... Overall, not perfect, but I remain pleased with my purchase and look forward to trying more of the recipes.
Love this book. Finally, a book full of recipes the whole family can enjoy with easily sourced ingredients. So many times, I’ve looked at cook books and know that half the family won’t enjoy half the recipes but not this time. There are so many recipes I can actually plan weekly meals with no need to repeat the same recipe week in and week out.
I was tempted to knock a star off for a few reasons..I do agree that there appear to be some minor errors in the recipes so better proof reading is needed. Also, there were a couple of occasions that the timings were a bit optimistic. Like other reviewers have also commented, there were a couple of meals where perhaps more flavours were required but that is easily adjustable.
Very good cook book and easy to follow! I’ve used it for nearly every meal in the last 2 weeks and family love the food, only reason it didn’t get 5 stars is some meal required more substantial ingredients and slightly more flavours. Over all very good
