This is a truly helpful book not just for people who suffer from horrible debilitating thoughts and feelings, but for absolutely everyone who is a human being! In fact I would describe it as the self help book for the person who thought they would never, ever buy a self help book. With Hazel, you feel you're in safe hands. She recognises our struggles great and small and shows such wit, common sense and lightness of touch, that her wise words comfort like those from a much loved friend. Look, she says, stop beating yourself up, we can deal with this, together. I defy anyone to read this book without feeling wiser, stronger and ready to move forward in a healthier, happier way.
This is a well written and easy to follow self help book with lots of useful exercises. The best time to use it is when you have a few quiet moments, with a pencil and paper to hand rather than binge reading it before bed. Hazel uses her own experiences to good effect in order to talk the reader through the exercises, and to illustrate the benefits.
This is a fantastic book to help you overcome the monsters that live in your mind, holding you back from being who you want to be. It has practical exercises, meditations and loads of information backed up by science. Brilliant!
I generally find it hard to get into self-help books. I always find myself scoffing at every line, smug in the belief that a book will never be the solution. Not so with FIGHT. I read it in three days, and have found myself recommending to friends, colleagues and family. This book has finally given me that “aha” moment... I hope it does the same for others.
