Fabulous book full of tasty meals which you would never think were aimed at dieters, great tips and ideas. Watch the tv programme and yes... yum the book is every bit as good if not even better. Looking forward to losing weight with the help of Tom's tasty treats!
I have tried out about a dozen of these recipes so far, and I've only had it about 6 weeks. Compare that to an average cookery book I've bought, where I maybe cook one thing and then shove it on a shelf.
These recipes are tasty, very unfussy and accessible (no 60 ingredient lists like Ottolenghi), and there's a great variety. Apparently it's a diet book as well but you would honestly never know. I didn't see his TV show, I just picked up the book at my mum's and started looking through it. When I got to about the 10th recipe where I thought to myself "That looks delicious!", I decided I had to buy it.
I'm plugging away and trying out a lot of different recipes. I like the fact that the vegetarian options here aren't an afterthought where the chef made a standard and just removed the meaty part. They seem to be inspired by a genuine appreciation of how tasty veg can be on its own.
If you're trying to lose weight I can see how this book would be very useful to you, but it's a really good cookbook filled with tasty recipes. Don't let the "Lose weight" part put you off at all; these meals are tasty!
Excellent, I can’t recommend this book enough, I have lost more weight with this than I ever have before and it was so painless (this sounds trite but it is so true for me, I love my food). It’s tasty, my family enjoys the food and the benefit of thinner waistlines. I’m so pleased to have purchased it. I have bought more copies as gifts and have and would recommend it to anybody, not just for weight loss but for the taste of the recipes as well - it’s a very cook book
I love this book for its real food approach - modern, rich, yet with sensible guidelines for a less weight enhancing diet. People with health risk fatty girdles (I'm actually thinking of men here) could live longer by modernising their culinary approach with this realistic guide. It isn't a lettuce-suffer book at all.
I bought this for my mum because she loved the TV Series and can now just use the recipe book instead of rewatching the episodes! There are a wide range of recipes and are all very filling so you’re not having tiny meals to lose the weight! There’s also a ‘sweet things’ section that has recipes for healthier cheesecakes, carrot cakes and ice lollies! The only thing I’d say is that some of the recipes we’ve tried don’t have enough flavour so we’ll add some of our own. Other than that we’ve really enjoyed the recipes from the book so far!
