It's a bit .... boring
4 June 2019
Look the author is an incredibly able individual who has an in depth knowledge of football and the area of law surrounding the transfer market.
He does a good job covering the subject matter ... It's just that the subject matter in the fine detail of contracts in turgid and uninteresting to most.
I had expected it to have more of a focus on the business side of the industry (as in the wheeling-and-dealing) rather than a legalese perspective - which to be honest is my problem not the authors fault.
I got about a third of the way through before moving on to another book (which I rarely do). I have to finish it over the summer or before the start of the next season because of the frenetic pass of the transfer market the examples given are already out of date and in some cases the players only dim and distant memories.
