What a great book, I am dyslexic and so is my son, helped me understand my sons difficulty’s and also gave me an insite to my own experiences with dyslexia and how it impacts on learning. This book gave me clear advice and learning strategies to help my son and new ways of dealing with dyslexia.
As a parent of a dyslexic child this is a very reassuring book full of strategies to help your child in a positive way without putting extra pressure on them. It is very accessible with pictures and direct experiences. It puts dyslexia in a positive light so that we can help our children make the most of what they are good at develop their confidence.
This is book is by far the best book I have read on Dyslexia. It is very comprehensive and accessible for parents, children and professionals. The books layout and illustrations are great I would highly recommend as a resource for any parent or child with Dyslexia.
We have only been told in recent days Our 11 year old son has dyslexia. It came as no surprise to me as I suspected it but did not trust my instinct enough. Sascha mentions this in her book, trust yourself don’t wait for the educators you will lose too many vital years. The book is an excellent source of information, written jargon free and very informative when you are like us and only finding your feet. The comments from parents and children will resonate with you and you will have a greater connection because they will be so personal to you and your child.
I have a son with dyslexia and found this book great. Would recommend it to everyone as it is the best book on the market to help explain what is dyslexia and how to help your child/teenager. Believe me I have read them all !!! Practical advice and reader friendly. Every school should have one so all teachers can understand and help pupils with dyslexia.
