Travis and Abby deserved more
on 14 December 2013
Buying this was a no brainer, I love Travis Maddox and always have time for him. But I have to be honest and say I don't feel that Jamie McGuire has done one of my favourite couples any justice with this book. They deserved so more and she has lessened the wonderful love story she brought us in both Beautiful and Walking Disaster.
Told from both Travis and Abby's POV's, it is touching on Travis' part. But I'm trying to work out just how I feel about why Abby wanted to marry Travis. I have always loved Pidge and it's just not sitting right with me but I'm trying to go with the young and impulsive angle as my reasoning. New revelations added potential depth with consequences. Or so I thought until I reached the latter chapters and what could've made this book a winner for me was simply skirted around (the cynic in me can't help but think that somewhere down the line we are going to get another novella to fill the void).
The potential was there for a much more detailed story and if anything a full third book could've have come from this. As much as I love Travis and Abby's journey, if we were getting more it needed to be tied up completely and I just don't feel it got the justice it deserved or leaves the reader with a sense of total satisfaction.
