I just loved this book, in fact all of the Tillerman series. The author has a gift for expressing hoe teenagers and children think, although she herself has left this time of life. I think it is a good read for teenagers bcause it shows how to deal with difficulties, without preaching, but it's also good for adults.
This is a touching story about a young girl as she grows up trying ro fight racism. Mina Smith is expelled from dance class, and she thinks she knows why....because she's black. It's a marvellous book that tells you about Mina, her friendships, her family and her love life. I would reccomend anyone from the age 10 - 15 to read it.
