Amazing guidance and wealth of drawings. Different stylistic approach as to the utilization of visible lines & cross hatching and as to the use - lack of the darkest value range. Comparable buying choice with the “How to Draw Portraits in Charcoal by Fowkes, Nathan”.
This is not a beginners book by any means, but it is a masterpiece in the subtle art of the drawn portrate, presented by a true master. As a reference work in how to render exquisite detail with fine shading and control of line it cannot in my mind be bettered.
If portrait drawing is your thing this is an excellent purchase. I love that he uses pencil rather than charcoal as his main medium. A very skilled artist prepared to share his knowledge. Illustrations first class.
