These Usborne Optical Illusions cards are intriguing and attention-holding, with a certain mind-bending 'cool factor', making them of interest to curious kids, teens and adults alike.

Some cards demonstrate that you cannot trust what your eyes are seeing! For example, two colours in a picture appear different but are in fact the same, or apparently over-lapping circles are not really overlapping at all. A 'revealer card' is included, which features a ruler edge and two holes to view colours through seperately, to prove certain illusions are true!

There are 50 illusion cards, approx 15.5cm long, boldly coloured and with explanations of the illusions on the reverse of each card. Not every card is mind-blowing but there is a decent variety and overall this set makes up an interesting collection. Ideal for dipping in and out of, for travel and for showing friends.

Bought these as part of a topic on optical illusions and popular art for 10/11 yr olds. They absolutely loved the cards and were amazed by how the human eye/brain can be tricked into seeing things that were not there. It contains a very wide selection from classic illusions like the faces/vase to impossible drawings and colour wheels that seem to rotate. Exceptional value for the amount of pleasure and information provided. Would make a great present for anyone of any age who likes to be entertained and amazed.

Getting a bit fed up with having to buy items like this as a £10+ add-on, or pay exuberant postage costs. Though I guess it's hardly surprising given the price of postage these days.

That said, the kids liked them. Bought one set for mine and another as a gift. Bit fiddly having to keep shoving them back in the box without creasing them. Might look for a book next time!

Most cards were really good, a few not so good. (A little repetitive) My son aged 10 found them interesting so thats the main thing.
Not a bad price overall. Free delivery with amazon prime so can't complain.

This was bought for a Granddaughters part Birthday gift.
We have all had a go at the cards. they are a big hit.
Some are better than others, but that's ok.
They are a good size for little hands
Small enough for days out to pop into a handbag ect.

My son (10) has had fun with these. Some are quite 'classic' optical illusions, others are more original. A few are a bit tame but with 50 to choose from there's plenty of entertainment value here.

Good illusions! 90% are really good illusions, but the rest are quite bad, bad the ones that are good, are amazing!
