One of my 2 favourite books for learning crochet
on 28 May 2016
One of my 2 favourite books for learning crochet. As is usually the case for Dorling Kindersley, Sally Harding's book is excellently illustrated, and it spans from absolute beginner up to advanced level. It has approximately 175 pages covering techniques and smaller items ranging from samples, fancy stitches, textures, openwork, filet stitch patterns, Jacquard and intarsia colour work, zigzags, embellishments, circular crochet (tubes), flat circles, Afghan squares, medallions, flower patterns, unusual yarns, and fastenings. A further 40 pages are dedicated to 20 larger projects, comprising: a Slouchy hat, Beanie hat, Baby's hat, Wrist warmers, Lacy scarf, Cold-weather scarf, Shawl, Waistcoat, Baby's booties, Baby's cardigan, Toy balls, Teddy bear, Bookmark, String bag, Clutch bag, Project basket, Round cushion, Chevron cushion, Baby's blanket, and a Patchwork blanket. 223 pages.
