I am always slightly wary about DK books as they have a habit of reissuing the same content under different titles eg The Beer Book reissued in part as Great Beers. This however has new content and is worth the money particularly with the Amazon discount against RRP. Tim Hampson knows his stuff and writes in a pleasant style although he does highlight a couple of breweries which are obviously his favourite from previous books eg Thornbridge, Brooklyn etc rather than picking on new examples which is a bit lazy.
Stan Hieronymus is a fellow author and I have enormous admiration for him since his seminal book on hops and therefore the US brewery section is very good.
Overall a worthwhile addition to the bookshelf for beer anoraks (I class myself as one) and a book which will find its way into a lot of Christmas stockings for Dads, Brothers, Uncles etc.
