What's wrong with this author? All of her other books have been well crafted page-turners, but this time she seems to want only to shock us with how many depraved scenes she can think up involving children. Not my idea of fun, and not really a substitute for a good plot or characters who you can identify and empathise with - personally I think Kimberley is a humourless, self-centred, obsessive bore, and I wish the serial killer would finish her off. Really struggling to finish it, because, quite frankly, I don't care about any of the characters except the children who are all despatched in increasingly horrid ways. Strange thing to read, or write, for pleasure.

Having finished this book I threw all of my Lisa Gardener novels away. All of the books I've read of hers so far have some element of child abuse in but this is just sick. Reading her thorough description of young boys being kidnapped and then raped is horrific and I cried for hours afterwards. Maybe its because I'm a mother with a young son that it upset me so much but how anyone can write this stuff I don't know. I will never read another book by this author again

This has to be one of the worst books I have ever read, and I've read a few! Couldn't wait to finish it. This author can do better and has done in the past. If I have to read once more of Kimberley 'chewing her bottom lip' again I'll scream and to make it worse Rachel started doing it towards the end of the book. Yawn.
