Having read all the reviews of this book, I bought it and, although I know that I am in a minority of one, I have to say that I did not like it at all. I will probably be dismissed as an ignoramus who knows nothing about Italy or its cuisine and that the only thing I've ever eaten is spaghetti Bolognese or lasagne. Therefore, just let me say that I love Italy, the Italians, the food, the atmosphere of the country and I speak Italian.
I have a number of Italian cookery books and I really thought, having read the reviews, that this would be the Holy Grail of such books; the Italian version of Elizabeth David's wonderful books. I have to say that I found it pretentious and disappointing.
For me, the only saving grace was the beautiful photographic work in the book.
