Some of the Maisy books have been quite popular here but this one didn't interest them at all. Maisy goes to the library to read quietly but her noisy friends come along for story time so she goes to read outside instead. There was no criticism of being noisy in the library and I didn't really think the story was very good. Bit of a churned out one I think. Illustrations were nice enough and encouraging children to use libraries is good but this one seems written to be given away free in book bags imho, more like an advert than a story.

In one of the 'first experiences' series, Maisy is off to the library. Lucy Cousins always has bright, primary colours in her illustrations and this will appeal to the youngest child. In this simple story, Maisy goes to the library and we learn all the things you can do there, from storytime to playing on the computer to borrowing books. These are excellent books and, in other books in the series, Maisy goes to places like the hospital, camping and the museum. The stories are a good introduction to places/things that toddlers may not be familiar with.

Bought this after my daughter loved 'Maisy goes on holiday' but this is a real disappointment. The story is all over the place so not as engaging. Would not recommend

Excellent illustrations, and clear fun text. Very suitable for young children and can be enjoyed by adults too. Highly recommended twenty first century reading for children. Lovely bright colours and a good introduction to what it is like to go to the library. I like the way the library is portrayed, both as a place of books and quiet as well as a place to hear stories read. It reads well out loud.

Maisy's local library should use the Dewey Decimal System which would enable her to find a book about fish!
