Children adore these books and I like the way the Mr Men are accepted and loved within the stories, despite their eccentricites - only learning a gentle lesson if they display excessive greed for example, but even then proving that they stay true to their character. Quite a useful lesson for little ones to learn while having fun, and enjoying the wonderful illustrations.
Is there a cure for Mr. Clumsy? Apparently not in this story. Although some of his actions are truly clumsy and amusing, like when he ends up in the laundry basket when he slips on soap in the bathroom resulting in a somersault, some are not. The incident of removing the can from the middle of the display in the grocery store is pure stupidity or whatever else you would like to call it but it certainly has nothing to do with being clumsy.
Mr. Clumsy's antics are amusing and you may well smile as you liken them to some that your child does. When he goes to switch off the alarm clock he knocks it onto the floor. Of course, if he had his shoelaces down up, some of the clumsiness would disappear!
