To be fair, the blurb does indicate the most likely target audience for the book. Unless you are either a professional or an apprentice in need of a quick means to refresh yourself in some term or tactic then it would be best not to buy this book. "Encyclopaedia", yes: training manual, no. My fault for buying the book, not the publisher's fault.
I was looking for a book to teach me how to board and plaster rooms in my house. This book does not teach the techniques that I was looking for. It goes into great detail about techniques for plaster moulding but only has about two pages that help with boarding and plastering and was the wrong choice for me!
As the other reviews have said this is not a dummies guide to plastering this is an advanced reference book for professional plasterers I bought this because I needed to cast some plaster colums whigh I had not done since I was an apprentice and this was I deal to remind me of the bits I had forgotten I would recommend this to professional plasterers who want to do a bit more than your average site work but this is not a book for novices as it requires a certain level of competence to understand much of it
