a great read

It is worth reading the 2 previous books in the series before starting this,Bec McMasters alternative London is a complex world that keeps developing and a lot might be lost if you have no prior info.
Rosalind Fairchild is a different sort of heroine from those in the previous two books in this series, she takes control, she doesn’t need saving from anyone. Jasper lynch is a fairly standard alpha male but he is no match for her. There is no point in their relationship where he is in charge.
Rosalind is desperate to find her brother and she thinks Jasper is the key. She deploys her most deadly weapons and sets about seducing him. As Mercury, the mysterious masked rebel, she taunts and challenges him. As Rosa, his tightly buttoned up assistant she gains his trust and respect. He knows he is out of his depth but he has no idea how far.
It is refreshing to have a female heroine who drives the action, takes the lead and is never manipulated by the men in the story. And there is a good plot here, if you can forgive a few small holes, it really gallops along with plenty of twists and turns. The characters are deep, complex and flawed with plenty back story. There is more than enough action and the story is nicely paced, it is all very well written. Very few of the characters from the previous books get more than a passing reference and I do miss them, I hope we get back to them later in the series.
I really enjoyed this book and would thoroughly recommend it.
