I imagine like most folks, you've done the course but in order to do the course you need an up to date manual. Well the Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support (PHTLS) course is based on all content in the book and vice versa. This is the 7th edition and is appropraite for technicians, paramedics, nurses, doctors, specialists. There is also a military version available. Lots to cover so give yourself plenty of time to go over the material. It's an American book, thus an American course but the principles you learn are applicable anywhere in the world. The book and course stems from Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) and depending where you are in your career then you can't go wrong with this book. It covers most if not all major areas except medical emergencies, comes along with a companion DVD/CD ROM for certain procedures. It also provides a refersher on then basic componets of anatomy & physiology, which could be examined. Bottom line, it's a good book, if you give yourself enough time you can get through it and it will serve you well on the course and when you're examined.
