Unauthentic practice questions
on 5 November 2012
There are serious issues with this book. While the advice might be helpful, the practice questions are not authentic enough.
The questions on the verbal reasoning are not balanced enough, most are based on texts published by the authors and concern a narrow field (that of psychology and psychiatry). More of a concern are the questions on decision analysis: I took UKCAT this year, the codes are completedly different: in the actual test, codes are likely too be a combination of punctation marks, letters and digits (e.g., B2,(A2, F4,):))); in the book they use fancy little pictures, which although are quite fun, are hardly the way to prepare for the actual test.
