If you are looking for a little handbook/pocketbook covering acute Paediatrics then this title is well worth consideration. The title covers much of the essential knowledge you would be expected to know and scenarios you would expect to encounter. Such topics include the acutely unwell child, asthmatic child and meningocococcal septicaemia to name but a few.
The greatest advantage of this title though is the website which is included as an adjunct to the text, a feature unique to this Wiley adjunct website is that it includes prescribing scenarios and drug charts to practice with and also videos of skills that both Paediatric doctors and Nurses should be expected to be able to do such as inserting a cannula, paediatric BLS, using an epipen or inhaler to name a few. Finally the website includes questions to test your knowledge, notes to add to your ID badge such as vitals at different ages and useful figures from the title.
The disadvantage of this title is that it assumes some knowledge so should not be used as your only source of Paediatrics knowledge and in some cases it doesn't have too great detail.
In conclusion if as a medical student you are strongly interested in Paediatrics as a career or are undertaking an acute/emergency Paediatrics attachment then this title should be strongly considered, any not get it from your university library if they have it.
