Adobe Photoshop Elements, Third Party books
on 25 February 2011
This book is like so much software on-line help (close to being of little help) that one must suspect the author has that sort of background. It will tell the reader that a control is available in the software but then limit explanation to a very narrow example that does little to educate the reader about the How and Why. I bought it specifically to understand more about Levels and Curves; it has little on this topic to commend. It also contains too many, annoyingly repetitious referrals to other sections (because you have to read these before you can decide to dismiss them) and a surprising number of typos. Superficial, a very disappointing purchase; a very disappointing read; don't recommend it unless you like to look at books that just contain other people's pictures. Instead, go for the book by Barbara Brundage - The Missing Manual series - a great tool; highly recommended. Wish I had bought this one initially (see my separate review).
