A useful book serving as an aide memoir for the interpreter, particularly helpful to the generalist Geologist wishing to occassionally remind themselves of key concepts. Students alike will benefit from Rob's clear concise explanations and good quality colour figures.

It would be greatly appreciated if purchase of the paper copy allowed full access to the digital, I'd love to be able to take it with me on my iPad.

I have it next to me whilst I interpret.

One of real bibles for any geologist or geophysicist. The Book is absolutelly superb. The author takes very complex subject of Rock Physics and breaks it down into understandable parts. Plenty of real life examples and seismic sections. Got two copies, one for myself and another one for a friend.
There are few other books on Rock Physics and Seismic Interpretation, but this is one the best.
Hardcover with very affordable price make book very precious.
Kindle edition is also well organised.

Rob and Mike did a great job in putting the concept, theory, and practices in rock physics and quantitative seismic interpretation together into one concise book. Others lack of the close integration of seismic and rock physics together. Rock physicists can obtain good understanding of the seismic processing side of things well using this book. I really like the practical nature of the book. It is a must have for people dealing with gathers for QI. It is also a practical rock physics book for interpreters. It belongs to one of the best in class!

This is easily the best text on this subject I have ever owned. Simm and Bacon have done a great job. Easy to use, beautifully produced and well illustrated. It sounds flippant, but it's refreshing to have a desktop reference book that doesn't snap shut when you turn away to look at your own data!
