The approach of this book is both intelligent and thorough. It outlines "the method" and whilst much of the technique might be gained in other interpretations of Stanislavsky, it gives a clear structured and well delivered accessbile way into the preparation needed by a professional actor. It delivers the information that any professional actor needs to prepare a role, and whilst the exercises described ultimately require practical delivery it gives clarity to what the actor can practice. The author delivers with experience, working skill, and first hand understanding and with the same discipline required of the best actors. No ego gets in the way, no airy fairy ideas, this is how it is, delivered by someone who truly knows and respects the art of acting.
