I got this book with my granddaughter in mind as she is forever saying she doesn't like vegetables. The book is colourful and is easy to read by my 10 year old granddaughter. She was quite taken by it and we did notice an improvement in her liking of vegetables. Maybe the book helped to achieve this in a less confrontational way but whatever, it is an amusing, colourful and fun book that seems to engage with children.
Although Amazon are saying this book is not yet available I actually received a copy from them yesterday. I found this book after some research on the internet when a colleague at work was complaining that she was having difficulty getting her twin boys to eat their vegetables and so I purchased it as a gift for them. The story is very well written in ryme and the illustrations are lovely. The fact that all the vegetables have names is great fun and my colleague said that when she takes the boys to the supermarket they can choose their veg by their different names making a game out of eating healthy. I think the book will allow children to see vegetables as their friends, I won't divulge some of the names as it would take away some of the fun of reading the book but they are very amusing.
Purchased for my 4 year old niece who absolutely loved the book! We had fun reading it together, the characters were wonderful and illustrated so well too! I would recommend this book to anybody to buy as a gift for a child - I look forward to the next one :).
Fab book with novel idea on how to help children to WANT to eat healthily. The illustrations are beautiful with very cleverly designed characters and the rhyming story adds to it's fun and quirky appeal. I would defiantly recommend.
