This is a very good read for anyone thinking of moving abroad or even daydreaming of doing so. The ups and downs of day to day living and integrating into life are expertly told. There is also hardship as well as language difficulties but all are overcome and a happier and healthier life is the outcome. A book l thoroughly recommend reading.

Having read the sample chapter I was agog to continue with the entire book especially after enjoying a holiday there a year ago. Unfortunately I found this book to be boring which is a real shame given the writer would appear to have an unusual job including travel in the Lago did Como area. For me the book dwelt far too much on the author's lack of interest or desire to learn and speak Italian. With constant focus negatively on this, the first half of the book became a rant and really, there really many stories of new interesting life starts in Italy so why be bored with this?

Easy summer read pretty unmemorable cannot find enough words to give a review on this book, passed it on to a friend mid holiday once I had read it! did not want it back or to pass it on either.
