Audio autobiographies are an incredible journey into the life of the narrator, and a glorious momento of that persons experiences. But when it comes to someone who is, sadly, no longer with us it feels that much more special. And this is the case with Peter Cushing`s Past Forgetting. It is at times heartbreaking and uplifting, a story of the rise to international stardom and the loss of his wife, of life-long friendships and iconic movies. All delivered with beautifully measured charm and intelligence, and with that most distinct of voices.

The product is classily produced with a selection of photographs and an introduction from Mark Gatiss for the booklet. The mini-documentary that ends the reading is, again, a testament to the love, affection, appreciation and respect for Cushing as a man and an actor.

To me he will always be an inspiration, a memory of happy times and a true legend. Long may his memory never be forgotten.

Overall: Wonderful!

Thank you Mr. Cushing.

Peter Cushing recalls salient and influential incidents of his life and career. For Cushing afficionados it's invaluable. For others it's packed with anecdotes and interesting insights that are always entertaining. The actor's impeccably trained tones are used to good effect as he is effectivley playing himself and appears to be enjoying himself despite the underlying saddness that was always with him after the death of his beloved wife Helen

This oral history - all the more convincing when read by the author himself - does not disappoint. The early years, fame and fortune with 'Hammer', the tragic loss of his much loved wife - what a fascinating tale on a very personal level. A true English gentleman, now sadly missed. R.I.P. Peter...

I love Peter Cushing. He is a pure English Gentleman. Whether he is Doctor Who or Grand Moff Tarkin from Star Wars, this caliber of Actor is sorely missing from the world of film and television today.
This CD, transfered from the Original tapes, sound better due to the nature of the quality. I am glad the quality has not been cleaned up. This quiet man who made such an impact on the big screen with his clear cut voice, his sometimes sinister, sometime grandfatherly look can take you to the edge of your seat and back again and his memories come over extremely well.

I Love this man for how great an actor he was but also for how much of a great human being he was.

Here Cushing tells us of the great days of him working on horror films as well as others.

He tells us his story as it should be told from the heart.

10/10

This is part two of Peter Cushing's Autobiography (if only the first part was available on CD as well).

A very informative, yet moving account of part of his life in his own words.
