Excellent book.
Its actually Joe's great grandfather.
Wonderful adventurous life. Many tales before that of the title.
Also makes you wonder how many more ships did not go down after hitting icebergs. As this makes plain, the sea is littered with them on the old liner routes at certain times of the year.
Well written, as is his other book the Grand Prix Saboteurs (True tale of racing drivers in the French resistance in WWII)

Excellent historical account of a fascinating story. A real globetrotting history of one mans life at sea, so more than the title

A great and gripping yarn of an amazing life, in a different time to what we know. Have bought multiple copies to pass on to others as I rate it that highly.

Yes I agree an excellent book and what an adventurous life he led. Many thanks to the reviewer who explained it was indeed Joe Saward's grandfather - he was modest in saying anything in the book and just assumed it was (!). But a good writer and worth read. I highly recommend buying this book.
