This is a big fat (around 500 pages) paperback packed with a lot of information (hence the two stars instead of one) but as the authors (judging from their qualifications) seem to be American Christian fundamentalists it's all tainted with the idea that if it ain't in the Bible, it ain't from God, therefore it's from Satan -- so beware.
Dowsing, fortune telling, hypnotism, paraspychology, spiritism, superstition and witchcraft (of course) etc. etc. etc. are all naughty occult practises, approved by Satan, and should be avoided.
Established religions don't escape either. Jews must "come to God through Jesus Christ". Islam's Allah "can't offer the mercy, love and ultimate sacrifice that...the Christian God offers to each man even today."
You get the idea? There are much better books on comparative religions, magic and the occult out there. If you're not a fundamentalist Christian you'll probably find the constant harping on Satan, and the Bible qoutes, as irritating as I did. Or you might find it amusing that these guys (unlike many of the occult and magical practictioners that they condemn)actually do believe in the Devil!
